Allerton Castle

Welcome to England’s most elegant and illustrious gothic revival stately home; a beautifully preserved relic of the early modern aristocracy and a stunning venue for weddings and events as well as a dramatic TV and film location.

Built by the premier Baron of England, Lord Mowbray, Segrave and Stourton in the 1840s, this stately home is steeped in history. Enter into its time capsule for an insight into by-gone eras, and be enchanted by the ambiance of a castle once owned by Prince Frederick (the ‘Grand Old Duke of York’ and brother to King George IV) in the 18th century.

The estate is open to the public from Easter until the end of October for guided tours and is available year-round to hire for your special day or private event.

A fairytale wedding deserves a fairytale venue. Allerton Castle is a magical location for this memorable milestone, bringing friends and relatives together in the stunning setting of a gothic revival stately home to celebrate your special day.

From the picturesque backdrop of the beautiful gardens, to the opulent staircase in the Great Hall, this enchanting castle is the perfect setting to tie the knot. Keep it simple with an intimate gathering or take advantage of the grounds and facilities for a larger wedding; our stately home is a versatile choice for weddings of any scale with a touch of elegance.
